What schemes are available to me and Bike it Now!

What is a salary sacrifice bike scheme?
At Bike It Now!, we work with three great partners: Workride, Wheel Deal, and North Ride.
Each one is a little different, so there’s an option for everyone.
If your boss/workplace signs up, you can get a high-quality bike and all your safety gear for a much lower price, as long as you use it for your commute.

It’s basically a smart way to pay for a new bike. Instead of paying with the money in your bank account, you pay for it out of your salary before you get taxed.

This means you end up paying less for your bike and less in tax—it's a win-win!

What scheme is suitable to you?

Which scheme is right for you?

1. Workride: The straightforward choice
Workride is super easy for big companies to set up. It’s a standard way to get moving without any fuss.
● How it works: Your work registers, you pick your gear, and then you lease it through
your pay. You own the bike at the end of the term.
● The best part: It’s a very smooth experience and saves you a lot of money on
expensive bikes.
● Heads up: There is a 5% admin fee. Also, if you leave your job before the bike is paid off, you’ll need to pay the remaining balance from your final paycheck.
Summary: Great for big offices that want things simple and standard.

2. Wheel Deal: The flexible option
Wheel Deal is perfect for smaller businesses and tight-knit teams who like to do things their own way.
● How it works: You still save on tax, but your boss manages the payments more directly, so it can be customized.
● The best part: It’s not a "one size fits all" plan. It can be built to suit exactly how your workplace operates.
● Heads up: Because it’s flexible, your HR team and the bike shop might need to chat a bit more to get it sorted.
Summary: Best for smaller teams who want a personal touch.

3. North Ride: The "no worries" model
North Ride is all about keeping you on the road with less stress and more bike choices.
● How it works: You lease the bike through your pay, and you aren't restricted to just "commuter" style bikes.
● The best part: You get two years of free servicing! The maintenance is part of your tax-free payment, so your bike stays in top shape for free.
● Heads up: Just like the others, if you change jobs, you’ll have to settle up the balance.
Summary: The top pick if you want your bike looked after and more choice in what you ride.

Most people pick the one their company already uses. If you're starting from scratch, North Ride is great for the free servicing, and Workride is a solid all-rounder. If you want something unique, go with Wheel Deal.

How does it actually work?

The process is simple. You pick your bike, and the cost is taken out of your pay packet over time.

Here’s why it’s awesome:
● Pre-Tax Savings: You pay for your bike before tax.
● Keep Your Cash: You save some serious coin.
● Ride Sooner: You get on a better bike layout without the upfront sting.

Because you’re paying before the taxman takes his share, you’re effectively getting a discount on the retail price.

We're always here to help!

We’re here to help!
The team at Bike It Now! can help you and your boss get everything set up. We’ll make sure you get the perfect bike for your ride.
We can help you:
1. Pick the right bike (not just the flash one... unless it is the right one).
2. Navigate the scheme without needing a finance degree.
3. Avoid rookie mistakes (we've seen them all).
You just focus on the important stuff—like which section of the Dunstan or Clutha Gold trail you're hitting first.
